For over 50 years, Cleveland Restoration Society has worked to preserve, protect, and celebrate the historic places that matter to Northeast Ohio’s communities.

Your generous gift will help support historic preservation projects in Greater Cleveland.

A group is gathered in the Cleveland Restoration Society Volunteer Gardens for the Annual Meeting.

CRS accepts gifts in many forms and encourages you to choose the option that best aligns with your financial goals.

Please contact our Chief Operating Officer, Tom Jorgensen, for additional information or to initiate a non-cash gift with CRS.

1. Stocks and Mutual Funds*

• Avoid capital gains tax on appreciation
• Your charitable contribution for federal tax purposes is based on the full fair market value of the shares on the date the gift is made

2. Bequests*

• No commitment during your lifetime
• Future Income for Cleveland Restoration Society
• May include gifts of cash, real estate, retirement assets, and more

3. Real Estate*

• Avoid capital gains tax
• Claim a federal income tax charitable deduction

4. Life Insurance

• Current income tax deduction
• Additional deductions for premium payments

5. IRA Contributions*

• You can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) starting at the age of 70½ up to $100,000.
• Reduces your taxable income
• Satisfy Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs)
• Possibly decrease taxes on your Social Security benefits and possibly decrease your Medicare premiums

6. Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

• Recommend grants to CRS from your donor-advised fund
• Receive an immediate tax deduction when you contribute to your DAF

*Removes donated assets from your taxable estate
